🌱 Voyage Learning Center – Inspired by the IB PYP Philosophy

Welcome to Voyage Learning Center, a place where curiosity, inquiry, and joy guide every step of learning.
Our program is deeply inspired by the IB PYP (Primary Years Programme) framework, which nurtures children to become independent thinkers, compassionate communicators, and lifelong learners.

Though we are not yet a fully registered dayhome under an agency, we currently operate independently, with the intention of transitioning into a licensed dayhome as soon as a placement becomes available.
I hold an IB PYP Educator Certificate, along with Alberta’s Child Care Level 3 Certification, and bring over 10 years of experience in early childhood education across various educational philosophies — including Reggio Emilia, Outdoor Play-Based Learning, and especially the IB PYP approach, which I’ve found to be most aligned with my vision as an educator.

Children are encouraged to ask bold questions, build meaningful connections, and reflect on their learning in ways that feel authentic and empowering.

✨ My Philosophy as an Educator

I believe that children learn best when they are emotionally engaged, intellectually curious, and free to explore.
The IB PYP approach supports deep learning by allowing children to stay with one idea long enough to extend, transform, and rebuild it through new questions and perspectives. This process strengthens their voice and agency as learners.

Though we are a small, independently-run program at the moment, we are committed to creating a rich, inquiry-based environment where children lead the learning and grow at their own meaningful pace.
On days when I’m not performing or rehearsing as a dance artist, I dedicate time to this space – ensuring it is joyful, creative, and rooted in mutual respect.

I look forward to the day we can formally join an agency and welcome more families into this nurturing learning journey.
